How to get an accurate price

The name alone is rarely enough. The same Pokemon is printed in many sets, and each print is a different card with its own price: Charizard from Base Set, Base Set 2 and Celebrations are all card number 4, and their prices are far apart. The number printed in the bottom corner of the card, such as 4/102, pins it down — type it after the name.

Then check the variant. A holo, a reverse holo and a promo stamp of the same card sell for different amounts, which is why each card page lists every variant separately. Finally, condition: these are Near Mint prices for ungraded cards. Visible wear lowers the price, and a graded slab is priced from its grade.

Why does the same Pokemon show several prices?

Each set prints its own version of a Pokemon, and each is a separate card. Base Set Charizard and Celebrations Charizard share a name and a number but not a price, so add the full card number to narrow it down.

No. They are raw Near Mint market values for ungraded cards. PSA, CGC and BGS graded prices are shown in the Kardex app.
