Kardex vs PokeScope: a PokeScope alternative
PokeScope and Kardex are both Pokemon-only card scanners, so the comparison comes down to what each shows after the scan and how you want to use it.
We make Kardex. Figures about PokeScope are from its public store listings in October 2026; features and prices change, so check the current listing before you decide.

Two Pokemon-only scanners
Both apps do one game. PokeScope, from Endless Loop Apps, describes itself as "Scan Cards & Track TCG Value" and runs on iPhone and Android. Kardex scans the card, asks you to confirm the exact print when a card has several, and prices that print.
On the price side, Kardex shows the raw Near Mint market value together with PSA, CGC and BGS graded prices and the recent price movement, so a card you might send for grading can be judged in one place.
Prices on the web as well as in the app
Kardex's set and card pages are public: every set has its full card list with current values, and the free price checker on this site looks up any card by name and number. That is useful at a card show or a trade table when you just want a number.
Collection tracking
Cards scanned into Kardex keep their variant, grade, condition and quantity, and the collection is valued from the matching price for each — a PSA 10 from the PSA 10 price, a played raw card from the raw price — instead of one figure per card name.
What Kardex does
- Scan a card with the camera and confirm the exact print and variant — holo, reverse holo and promo versions of the same Pokemon are priced separately.
- Raw Near Mint market prices and graded prices for PSA, CGC and BGS slabs, side by side.
- Price history and recent movement for each card instead of a single listing.
- A collection that keeps variant, grade, condition and quantity for every card.
- Set pages with the full card list and prices, and a free web price checker on this site that needs no app at all.
When to stay with PokeScope
- You already have your collection in PokeScope and are happy with its value tracking.
- You prefer its interface — both apps are free to try, so the quickest test is to scan the same five cards in each.
